While we design and make slip ring assemblies that weigh up to many tens of kilograms at the other extreme we design and make tiny slip rings of a few grams for applications in, for example, ground to air missiles. Although tiny, they have to be very robust to be able to function correctly while being subject to huge launch accelerations.
